Do you train like Cesar Millan?
WHO? We do not train like Cesar Millan. There are some similarities because it is a canine and canine psychology is used. For instance, He is only showing people on television how to correct one behavior, and how to exercise your dog. What if we can’t exercise? What if we do not want to exercise? What if we’re 75 years old? We all have “issues” with our dogs no matter who we are. Personally, I cannot out exercise my dogs and most people can’t either. We teach you Four Essentials (c) that anyone can do and without roller blades! I personally do not roller blade nor do I have time to. I can always find time for a short walk however, to show my dog I am the leader and that I am going to find food for the pack. Canine behavior has been around long before Cesar or his grandfather. We are here to help everyday people, not the movie stars. Cesar is a good entertainer. We save lives.
What is “normal” behavior?
What is normal behavior for a dog? Better yet, what is NOT normal? Aggression of any type, pulling on a leash, jumping, barking, fearfulness–these are NOT normal behaviors in dogs, yet owners accept this behavior! “Whispering” will teach you to become a calm pack leader and help you rehabilitate your dog to become a calmer dog. How can you make a difference? All dogs need four things: Leadership, walks, rules, and good nutrition(c). Provide these four things for your dog, and you will experience the rewarding, loving relationship you imagined when you decided to get a dog.
Why doesn’t my dog listen to me?
Dogs don‘t understand English, so negotiating, pleading, and yelling won‘t work! Dogs feel your energy, and are keen observers of body language. If you are angry or frustrated, or if you are yelling at your dog, he or she will see you as an unstable leader. Dogs won‘t follow an unstable leader. Dogs are not people–human psychology doesn‘t work on them! “Whispering” is about treating your dog like a dog and teaching people to become the leaders of their pack. Dogs respect and follow calm leaders, and will relax and be a dog once they realize someone else is in charge. We are not saying you can’t love your dog. Can I still be affectionate with my dog?
Of course! Correct him as needed (rules) and love him the rest of the time. when your dog is calm, this is the time to show affection. We don‘t want to reward an excited, fearful, aggressive or otherwise unstable mind. If you don’t like it..bite it! If you like it…Pet it! ™
What About Obedience Training? “Whispering” is about changing behaviors; in humans and dogs. It is not obedience training! An aggressive dog can go through obedience training and learn to sit, stay and lie down, but he‘s still an aggressive dog. A fearful dog can learn to roll over but he is still fearful. His behavior has not changed! Obedience training teaches dogs tricks. The most common phrase we hear is “my dog won’t come when I call him”. Sound familiar?
What Happens to “Bad Dogs”?
There are really no Bad Dogs, just bad owners or owners who just do not know what to do with their dog. Dogs with issues such as jumping on people, barking incessantly, showing aggression to people or other dogs‚Äîare frequently relinquished to shelters where they are labeled “unadoptable,” and euthanized for their behavior problems. We want to change this! Very few dogs are truly unadoptable. Most dogs labeled as “bad dogs,” are not BAD–they have never had anyone provide leadership, walks, or rules and have developed undesirable behaviors in its absence.
